Nadia Barakeh, M.Psy.
Children, Adolescents, and Adults

Nadia holds a master's degree and is pursuing a doctoral program in clinical psychology. Her professional journey spans over 27 years, beginning as a teacher working with children with exceptionalities and screening for learning needs. She later transitioned to supporting survivors of intimate partner violence and their families, eventually focusing on mental health support for children and adults. These varied experiences have shaped her commitment to strength-based approaches, which empower clients to build resilience and overcome personal challenges.

Nadia’s extensive training encompasses a wide range of therapeutic modalities, including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy (NT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Her approaches are deeply rooted in principles of diversity, anti-oppression, and anti-racism, informed by her years of advocacy in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to support BIPOC communities in accessing culturally relevant mental health services.

Specializing in comprehensive psychoeducational and psychodiagnostic assessments, Nadia works closely with children, adolescents, and adults facing challenges related to attention, behaviour, anxiety, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and socioemotional functioning. She applies evidence-based strategies to deliver accurate assessments and actionable recommendations, ensuring meaningful support for clients and their families. Beyond assessments, Nadia is a dedicated advocate, working within schools and communities to help families access the right services. Her expertise also extends to guiding children and parents to address behavioural challenges, social and peer difficulties, and family dynamics.

Nadia’s culturally competent and integrative approach underscores her dedication to understanding and meeting each client's unique needs. Her multicultural background offers that "lived experience" when working with individuals from various cultural backgrounds. A lifelong learner, she continually integrates the latest research into her practice to provide effective and personalized care. She is especially passionate about supporting women in their journey toward self-realization and wellness with empathy and expertise.

Nadia provides services in English and Arabic and psychoeducational assessment in English and French.
